I was talking to a Mennonite lady the other day and she was telling me about a miracle that a member of their sect had. He had terrible head injuries and when he woke up he had no control over anything. His speech , his arms , legs nothing. When he became aware of his situation he panicked. It took years of hard work and devotion to get him back to where he is now. He lives in Missouri and was visiting Pennsylvania this week. He is walking and talking and still is a very intelligent man. BUT everything is slowed down. His thoughts come slower and he moves slower and talks slower. Amazing that he is still alive let alone functioning almost normally. I cannot imagine what he went through mentally.

I can't either, Sandy, but it must have been quite awful, I should imagine.

Wow! As much as you dislike 'slugs', I'm surprised you'd so much as even 'pick up' a book entitled 'Slugs'!

Why not, Dabbit? Sticks and stones and big, smelly slugs might hurt me, but the words should not, LOL.

'The Help' - an intriguing title, Pixiedust. Who wrote it? Is it a mystery revolving around servants in a large home or something?

My latest book is larger than my normal preferred paper back ones and is about serial killers of the world! it's an eye opener I can tell you, what some of these killers did is bewildering (?)

Pixiedust, since you are from N. O. you should have enjoyed "The Help". I certainly did. I was raised in the era of the book, could have helped write it and I loved it. I felt like I had known as least some of the characters.
I do think it is a book for southern females, doubt it would be understood and appreciated by anyone else.

I have been busy reading THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATOO and the 2nd in the series THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE by Stieg Larsson. The last of the series will be out soon. THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNETS NEST.
Larsson had outlined 10 books and did not seek a publisher until the first 2 were finished. They were extremely popular and the first has been made into a movie. Shortly after he delivered the third manuscript to his publisher, he died of a heart attack.
I have thoroughly enjoyed these books, can't wait for the third and highly recommend them. They have sold millions of copies and are now called the Millenium Trilogy.
