Some people think of February 12th as Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday. If they can remember a time when Abraham Lincoln HAD a birthday, all his own, and didn’t have to share one with George Washington on a convenient generic holiday, known as “President’s Day”
Some people remember February 12th as the date of the Beatles first New York City Concert, in Carnegie Hall, in 1964.
I remember February 12th, as your birthday.
This year, an overwhelming sadness comes with the approaching date. There will be no card to make for you. No present to send you. No phone call, to sing “Happy Birthday”.
My heart aches, as I have so many unanswered questions, not the least of which is “why?”
I know I’ll never have the answers to those questions. But I just wanted you to know that I miss you and I love you. Happy Birthday.
February 12, 2007 would have been our dear, departed member, ldyolake's, 41st birthday. Rest in Peace, Jen!
