`So as I am sitting here, in the quiet of the early morning, I have come to a great philosophical conclusion about life.
I may not have fame and fortune. I may not live a charmed life. Every good deed I do may seem to come back and bite me in the ass.
But the thing is this: People who have fame and fortune, rarely do good in life People who lived charmed lives, go through them not knowing or caring what is real and genuine. And although I always get shot down, I never stop trying! Or giving.
Although we may not be the most popular, we may not be known throughout the world for our talents or our brains, and everything we do seems to blow up in our faces...when someone tells us that they care for us, we don't have to question whether it's genuine or not. We have been blessed with the ability to tell the difference. We may not have a LOT of friends, but the friends that we DO have, genuinely love us, for who we are, for they see the things inside of us, while others can't get past the things on the outside. They don't misinterpret or misunderstand what motivates us...as they "get" us. They see and appreciate our caring, understanding, generosity, humor, etc. And people REMEMBER us. Maybe not the members of our own "families", but the "family" we have created for ourselves, along the road of life.
And as I am thinking about all of this, I realize, there are people who will miss me, and remember me, when I'm gone. For my words, my deeds, my compassion, my talents, my friendship and my love. And that's the point of life. It's not how BIG an impact you make, it's that you DO make an impact...if even only on one person.
So I want you to know, you've made an impact on my life. You are a part of me. I appreciate your wonderful sense of humor, your generosity, your caring, your goodness...everything that goes into making up "you". And I would miss you every day, if you were gone. And I will wait for you, by the gates, if I go first.
