Early on last year my local Council were GIVING away free Compost Bins to encourage people to compost. I knew nothing about composting, but since getting the bin have been reading up and learning about it.
It's surprising what you can compost, including used teabags, egg shells and raw vegetable peelings. Including shreaded paper, leaves, grass and cardboard.
I must admit, I do love getting my hands diry!!

Nothing wrong with a little dirt on one's hands, Louise...clean hands usually mean you've either just washed them or haven't been doing anything... ;D

A few years back our council offered compost bins for about a fiver and I bought one and I have to say when you get the first load of compost it is all worth while...

Yes it is. My bin is starting to get pretty full. Especially now it's that time of year again and the lawns need mowing every year.
