Dear Alex,
I wonder if you can help me out, you see I have this problem - all to do with time. I recently spent a few days at the seaside, the time leading up to it didn't particularly go quickly, but the time there went as quick as saying 'fast'. I'm now worried that my holiday in four weeks time will go as quickly and I'll be typing here tomorrow (if you know what I mean). When away I try to make the most of every moment and even stay up later than normal. Do you have any tips?

Dave, I'm a bit late answering you. I was on a vacation of my own and lost all track of time. I was having so much fun. Time just flew. One minute it was Monday and the next it was 2 months later. Regardless of what Sandy wrote in her Time piece, all time is the same. Numbers don't lie. One minute is always 60 seconds. An hour is always 60 minutes. Then why does time seem to fly or drag? It's our perception. You humans and us cats are basically hedonists. Always wanting a good time. When the time isn't good we think it slows down. THe best tip I can give you is this. Enjoy the good times and when it isn't good, remember any minute now it could be good again.and a minute is only 60 seconds.

I remember so clearly when time seemed to speed up. I was in the 6th grade. It was the first time the summer went by so fast. Then the school year went by even faster. Every year since then seems to get shorter. Summer is a almost a blink and then fall whizzes by. Although winters take forever. Giving birth can seem never ending. And if we are lucky a good friend is forever. Then again, what is forever? Time is so relevant isn't it? Or is it?

And I have already bought several gifts and in the process of making a couple of other gifts. At least in that arena I am ahead of the game. ;D

I love Christmas. I always get so excited about gifts for the people I love. I am so sentimental that I spend time trying to get gifts for people that are meaningful. I also have a tradition of giving a new dated ornament every year. I have been doing that for about 35 years now. The ornament is usually used as a decoration on the gift. I also spend lots of time and effort picking out great paper & ribbons and making each gift beautiful. My son says that he hates opening the present because how lovely the wrappings are. So yes, I am an eager beaver when it comes to Christmas.
