Dabbit, A) seems like a good solution, but a little gory and a lot illegal. So let's not go there. B) seems very satisfying. I like a good bonfire. Also it can last a long time if the building is big enough. Are the warehouses and offices in the same location? Arson takes loads of planning. Have to do it right or you get caught. Isn't it terrible that most of the fun things in life are illegal. C) I don't like that option. To me it's always a last resort. D) Legal proceedings are sometimes costly unless you have an agency helping you for free. SO I choose E) Bug the hockey sticks out of the company. Look into any past misdeeds of this company. Is this their standard operating procedure? Are there others out there with the same problem. Then after lookinginto your options if all else fails try F) Bad advertising against the company. Start a blog about them. Tell everyone and name the company. Visit other blogs and warn them. Call your governmental agencies and tell them the name of the company. Any way that you can get the name out there will get you some revenge and take away from there profits. OH make sure all claims you make are true. But let everyone know how they function. If that fails go back to B). BUt remember don't watch it burn. That's how you get caught.

I would add something about perhaps writing a letter to the editorial pages of your newspaper(s).

Actually Mark I did think of writing the TV programmes (I'm that mad) but I guess I will have to wait until next week before thinking of that option... Alex, thanks for the options I guess the illegal options were silly ideas anyway, why should I suffer in prison for their sake. ( www.easier-living.co.uk is the company)

What exactly transpired, Dave? Can you give me a synopsis? There's a company here that sells the same 'scooters' that are always advertising on television and claiming it's probably free, etc, and sounds quite similar. Might even be the same company - who knows?

Wel to put it as breifly as I can they approached my mum when she was at the seaside for the day with offer of entry to win disabled aids (such as a scooter) in a prize draw. She accpeted the offer and filled in her details, next minute we know she has bought a wheelchair (electric) for nearly £2000 putting a £600 deposit down. The contract said she had seven working days to cancel which we did within the time period allowed. But trying to get a reply from the company about getting a refund is like talking to the dead, no more like a brick wall. Admittedly it has only been a week, but the fact is they have promised on at least five occasions to 'ring back' and they haven't bothered.
I finally got a woman on the phone who said that the order had been cancelled, and when I enquired about a refund she said "You'll have to talk to the financial manager who is out of the office the afternoon, he'll call you back tomorrow". And guess what? He didn't...

Dave, if you were here, I would report it immediately to the Attorney Generals office. Do you have anything comparable? A Better Business Bureau? Or a TV channel that looks into frauds?

We did eventually get the money Maria so its technically not fraud, it was just the bad (lets say very bad) customer services and rellunctance to reimburse. We do have trading standards whom I did report it to along with governing body for the disabled goods sellers which is what seemed to work in the end (along with the threat of court action)

It's sad that good customer service seems to have gone by the wayside with most companies. It can still be found, but one pays a premium for it.
