I planted some seeds (bean or pea I think) in a tub several shot through but when I tried to thin this one out there were loads of seedlings in the one pod as you can see...Imagine having a multi birth with this amount?

The will to live and propagate are strong indeed in nature.

Talking of that we have a sycamore tree out the back of our house and every year it lets its 'helicopter' type seeds fall mainly into our garden. It amazing how many of those would actually take given half the chance (I pick up the 'seeds not to mention the seedlings that sprouted).

I grew up and taught my kids (and will eventually teach my grandchildren) to make Pinocchio noses from these. Lots of fun splitting the seeds and sticking them on one's nose. ;D

What you never had Pinocchio noses? They are called that because you put it on your noise and it makes your nose look like it has grown. All the kids love to play with them. Well actually, I do too.

Well, the helicopter thingys that I remember were much too small for that. Or maybe my nose was just too big, LOL.

Mark, one just has to use their imagination. The seeds are not that big--only about a total of an inch long. I also did and do the 'helicopter thingys' too. I am sure your nose was not too big.

Those helicopter thingys's are horrid we have a tree outside the back of our house and our garden is constantly finding helicopter treelets triyng to grow

Yet, they are sort of fun to drop and watch spiral down - best to do it over concrete I suppose, if you don't want more treelets... ;D

But then I'd not be able to grow anything anymore...And I'd become sad missing all my little seedlings....
