Now I have a problem with the need to read a book on screen (of course if it is a small enough book it oculd be printed I guess)...I couldn't sit and read a book on a computer, I find it difficult enough to read a book full stop (or period as our friends in the US might say). That said I do enjoy reading

Project Gutenberg has a lot of classic texts as well, though if you're looking for a particular translation, it's hard to find. I've been trying to find a downloadable copy of a rare, out-of-print translation of Cyrano de Bergerac for a couple of years now, to no avail.
The other thing, if you're familiar with peer2peer software, you'll discover it's not just pirated music. You can get e-books nd document files that way. I use Soulseek and BitTorrent all the time. Get great stuff that way.

I once bought a cd that had 700 e-books on it. Or so it said. I never counted. That way you can read a little at a time. My cd of course is misplaced right now but I think I bought it on e-bay.
As for out of print books, I wanted a copy of a book printed in 1928. Not a classic either. The genealogy of my father's family. I found a place (online) where you can order reprints. If they have the original of course I guess. If you just want a copy of a classic, not an original, that might be the place. They have discussion groups also. I joined for awhile (looking for a book from my childhood also). If anyone is interested I will try to find the name of the company. I havent seen my book for a while but I'm sure I have it somewhere.

Yes, please post the address, once you've found it, that would be great. What is your father's surname, if you don't mind my asking?
