Two weeks ago, we went to the breeder and selected this Poodle puppy and brought her home. We named her Fluff. Yes, we know older people should choose older rescue dogs that need good homes, that older dogs are easier to deal with, that older dogs are usually trained in some manner or other and that older dogs are just as lovable and loving as puppies.....but could we love an older dog as much as we would love a puppy we had gone through the agony of raising ourselves? Could we paper train an older dog to use a poo/pee box in the house since we have no grass and neither of us is able to get outside to walk a dog?
Besides that, we fell in love. Do you blame us?

Not at all! We got our puppy from a friend, and fell in love with her and her brother. it was only my 'feet firmly fixed to planet earth' that made me sway the others to the thinking that two dogs means: 2 x vets fees, 2 x walks(?), 2 x kennel fees if we go away, and 2 x heart break when they finally die. So good on you, hope you enjoy Fluff!

I think so, Cjsoma,
I've heard of people using pee pads that they've taught their dogs to use and there is a new type of 'puppy litter' which supposedly you can train them to use, but I have no experience with them, but I'll ask around. I'd ask Charley, but I think the cat's got his tongue, he's not talking much. ;D

[/img] I tried to post a picture of Fluff, let's see if it works this time! Thanks for your comments, we are doing well so far....pee pads are in place Mark, sometimes she even uses them.

Hi Cjsoma, I've found the instructions I was talking about, hope this helps. Enclose the URL (web address) of the image you wish to post between an IMG instructions thusly: either by typing in or by using the icon above (in the toolbar you see when making a Reply). Also, when making a reply, you will see the following: Note what I have circled. That's where you insert the URL of the image you wish to post in order to upload the picture to the site where you can store the image. Click on browse to find the image on your computer, then after finding it, click on 'Host It'. The image will be uploaded then to the hosting service and they will present you with several choices, as below: Note - This is the procedure I just followed to insert the cartoon of the old man (maybe me? ;D ) lecturing the young punk about wearing his pants around his knees or something.... Use the one circled, called 'Direct Link', and insert between the IMG codes as shown above, , inserting the 'Direct Link' in place of the URL. Alternatively, to find the URL of a photo you have found hosted elsewhere, right-click on the image, select 'Properties', and then highlight and copy the URL or either select 'Save As' and place it on your desktop. I hope all of this makes sense, to you, Cjsoma. Please ask any questions you may have.
