Mark curiosity has got the better of me and I have to ask about the name eXaScape? How would you say it exactly (as escape?), and where did you 'find it'? These are probably really stupid questions but you know us British...

Well, you may know how difficult it is to find an unusued (or bought) domain name these days. I went through hundreds of names before I found a few that are available. Put simply, 'exa' is the prefix which means 'quintillion', 'scape', of course just means 'scene' or 'view'...Thus, a quintillion points of view, view from a quintillion miles, a little obscure, but I thought it had a certain ring to it, so I thought, why not form a forum with the ultimate goal of allowing a quintillion points of view...alternatively it could be the expression of a mind that's completely open. Scape, of course, can also be a variant of the word 'escape'. In short, I just thought it different and a little catchy, and most importantly - available. Someone had already registered 'google', darn it.

Hmmm....looks like I'm talking to myself, doesn't it? LOL I forgot to mention the enlarged X and S. Pronounced together it sounds like the word 'excess' a little, another little play on words.

Mark you're too clever for me...Still I now know the reasoning behind the name...

Rather convoluted, I know, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I have the site I bought the name for my site at www.exascape.com but haven't used it for very much as yet.

Thanks for explaining where the name comes from, Mark. Very original!

Thanks, Louise. Necessity being the Mother of coming up with an 'untaken' domain name. It is very, very difficult to find one. I'm tempted to keep making up names and registering them in the off-chance I ever need them in future. ;D

Yes, it is difficult to get a domain name of your choice. Just imagine how many people there are using the Internet at any given time! Must be squillions of people!
