I'm sick to death of having to remember passwords and pins...Every card we have now requires a four number id which enables us to buy things in shops, then we have the pins if by any chance we wish to use cash, then we come online and every site (in the world it seems) requires us to have another password and username.
And then they say use a different password for each site AND change them regularly...Has anyone told them the amount of sites that require a password? And what about all those shops we have to enter a pin number...
And my memory is not as good as it once was either

Dave, one major suggestion - 'Windows Live Toolbar'! One of its features is a 'Forms Filler' - including logons, passwords, personal data (for forms requiring it, etc) - it works pretty good, saves my old brain a workout, I can assure you. You can find it at toolbar.live.com/ - My advise is, why 'swear at' when you can 'swear by' something? ;D

Well I have a book full of passwords - some of the site have since 'passed on' but I have found google tool bar which has the same password saver...But sometimes it doesn't save them (probably because they are secure sites or something.
So you still sign for things when you use a card in the shops in the USA? We have a new system here called chip and pin and it involves remembering a number for each card you have, and you no longer sign your name. Apparently it has helped reduce fraudulant use

Nothing against Google - I love most of their features, but I removed the Google toolbar in favor of the Windows Live toolbar as I found the Google toolbar had a few problems, interfering with some Java features, etc at odd times. Also, the Windows Live form filler, while still not perfect, seems to be more accurate. Of course, no computer program can be 100% accurate, but it comes closer than most without interfering with other processes.

I put all my passwords in my Palm handheld and then put an encrypted password on my Passwords in case I lose the Palm containing all the passwords. Of course, now my problem is where do I keep the password for my passwords!!!!!!

Then he would have to know the numbers as well, and the proper combination of letters, numbers, upper and lower case. By the time he or she went through all the permutations and combinations, we'd be more worried about Y3K than about passwords.

Of course by then I guess we'll have finger printing machinery on our pc's to ensure it really is us?

Actually, by then, I imagine the silly things will be able to read our minds or something. Boggles the mind, doesn't it?

I have one really complicated password which I can remember, and which does most of my secure sites.

One of my past ISP's gave me a password that I did actually memorise which I do use sometimes...But I've read that 'they' recommend you have different passwords for different sites, and change them frequently...Em I'd have an encyclopedia of passwords if I did that - lol

Dreadful isn't it Mark do you think it's anything to do with the fact we're no spring chickens any more?
