We all have little things that really get on our nerves - some of us have several. One of my current ones is the proliferation of voice mail customer service centers. I've had situations where I went through 15-20 minutes of voice mail manipulations only to be cut off when I was being "forwarded". This is particularly annoying when you've been through it all before, but still have to jump through all of the appropriate hoops before you finally hear a (live) human voice! Why can't you cut to the chase when you know where you're going to wind up anyway?

Ok, I'll add another one. Maybe it will become more obvious about the 'Reply' button.
Another pet peeve of mine is people who refuse to get their pets 'fixed'. What's up with that? Then, they wonder why their pets continue to have other pets. Duh...let's see if we can figure this one out. Hmmm....dog in the prime of life - hasn't been spayed or neutered...it's Spring....doesn't take cold showers....duh....!

See Sandy Koontz's solution to the voice mail problem in 'Free For All', under 'Good Stuff to Know' in 'Handy Websites'. Thanks, Sandy!

WELL, This is my project now and I want everyone to come in and tell what pushes their buttons, what really ticks you off, what can make sweet little ol' you into a menacing monster in the snap of your fingers. And best of all do you know why?

Another question I would like to ask. Do you have what I call chemical reactions to people? Ever see someone and just get the feeling you would like to rap them up side the head? Ever meet someone and no matter how nice they were you just felt hostile around them?

I know that one...we have a neighbor like that...has pushed my buttons since day one! She is pushy, overbearing, rude...thinks that if she says "Bless her heart" at the beginning of talking about someone, it excuses all the evil that she spews, afterwards. To my amazement, everyone else around here seems to think this woman is WONDERFUL. But she is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me!

The first time I ever ran into anyone that I had never seen before and had a chemical reaction to I threatened to throw him out a 2 story window. That is very unlike me. He said 2 words to me and I was off and running. Thing of it was when I told him never to talk to me again or I'd toss him out the window , he believed me. An awful way to treat a one legged man.

Sandy, I don't know if you meant that to sound funny or not, but it made me smile. Remind me never to make you angry... ;D

It was a smart alec remark. I never felt a minutes regret about threatening to toss him. One legged or not.

Yes, but would you use one arm to even it out?

My pet peeve is Litter-- I hate people that throw trash on the ground and expect other to pick up after them. I have actual been behind people and told them that they accidently dropped a piece of papper and then hand it to them. They get embarassed.

I hate telephone menus with a passion. I am sure they are put there a} to push up your phone bill while you wait and b} because the company concerned is too TIGHT to employ enough staff to deal with the volume of calls..........grrrrrrrrr

Exactly. They are a real pain. And I hate to spend so much time saying 'yes' or 'no' or pressing buttons for what seems like hours and then losing the connection! Arrrrgh!

I agree, I hate those thingees. I sat on a Board of a company that wanted to have an automated answering system because they wanted to save money on a switchboard operator. Automation vs. real people. I voted against the motion. However, it passed all the same. So impersonal.

Do you know if you confuse the automate they switch you to a real person? I was so confused by all the alternatives I was given once I just started pushing buttons and next thing I knew a people person was there. One other time I answered "yes, I mean no, wait yes" and got transferred right away. Not sure if it works everytime though.
