A while back they found cases of Bird flu in the UK, the news had a hay day and made the population of the country think they were going to die and to avoid all wild birds. So what happened? Nothing! The birds did have the flu virus but no more news has been on about anything - its sort of 'died a death'.

Another case of the news media trumpeting up the importance of lesser news on 'slow news' days, I'll wager.

I've given up watching the news these day as I find it too depressing! Everything is about someone killing someone else, soldiers killled at war, the way we won't be able to eat soon due to inceasing prices, dying/ill people fighting for medical treatment and so on. That said I do grab glimpses online or when my daughter has the news on - but I try to be doing something else so it doesn't get my full attention.

Exactly what I'm saying, Dabbit. Just not worth watching very much, anymore.
