With Mr Bush on his last European tour it was nice to catch up with him over a coffee at the exclusive Buckingham Palace Cafe. I was pleased to see he and Mrs Bush were keeping well and seriously thinking about their carbon footprint by using Airforce 1 (Couldn't they manage to swim the 'pond')

LOL, I'm sure his 'carbon footprint' was the last thing on his mind, Dabbit. I'm sure history will prove he's been a better president in some ways than people think....it's happened before.
I am fearful of the upcoming election here, though. I'm afraid a lot of people will not vote for this or that one for the best of reaons, without really thinking it through.

If people there are like people here they tend to vote for people they like, rather than the party policy. I admit I also do this on occassions though I have now completely ruled out voting for certain parties.
Actually the only thing I have against Bush is the fact he wouldn't sign up to the treaty thing that set countries goals for reducing their carbon footprint. And as America (and China I think so we're told) are the two worst polluting countries I thought he could have done more on that score. That said I believe he did sign to something to start reducing the USA carbon ommisions. Shame he couldn't quite manage the pon though aye?

Right. I disagreed with Mr. Bush on several things, and knew I would when I voted for him. However, I had even less faith in his opponent for the office and was in effect, not given much of a choice at all. I just didn't trust his opponent at all. It's a sad state of affairs, indeed, when one has to select the better of two less than optimal choices.

Is it me or have these presidential elections gone on for five years now?
