I was chatting with my doctor(OK,VET) yesterday and he was answering questions about this staph infection. My pet human has an elderly aunt in a nursing home who has contacted this infection. There are 2 types. The type that is in hospitals and nursing homes and the other one, a communicable type. Interesting enough this type started in the NFL with one team. It spread all through the NFL and now everywhere. There are ways to keep from contracting this staph. Hygiene Hygiene Hygiene. The Dr also told me that he was the doctor of several football teams and one school has been having problems with MRSA because he does not require the team to shower after practice and games( Peee YOOOU) A good cleaning of locker rooms and just general ordinary clean practices by humans can control this problem. Also just plain soap and water will do it. You don't need antibacterial soaps! Just wash.

Indeed Alex wash your hands for two minutes and ensure the back and between fingers are washed in that time and you'll be fine. Many of us actually live quite happily with MRSA up our noses or throats with no problems. Problems generally only happen in the elderly, young or those with health problems

I've heard that one should wash one's hands for as long as it takes to sing 'Happy Birthday'. Of course, if you're in a public restroom, you'll get some rather strange looks.

It all depends, I suppose. If you are surrounded by a bunch of football rowdies, it might not be the best thing, best to sing it quietly in your head.

No, I'm just saying that singing in 'the Head' might not be the best thing to do depending on who else might be about, so best to think one's way through the song to give a measure of how long one should wash one's hands for maximum effect.
