This was a very low budget film - all told I believe about $100,000 was spent making it, using handheld cameras, no less. However, it was one of the best 'music' films I've seen in many years. What they did was take a couple of independent musicians, Glenn Hansard and Marketa Irglova, put them into a situation in Dublin, Ireland and made actors of them. It was a bittersweet, romantic tale with some great music. I actually watched it last weekend, but was reminded of it last night during the Academy Awards presentation, their song from the movie, "Falling Slowly" won an Oscar for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song. I'd give this film two very definite "thumbs up"....a sweet tale. Oh, and by the way, I figured out how to put a little video at the top of this page - you can listen to the song that won the Oscar as played by the original artists at the Sundance Film Festival.

Actually, it wasn't that romantic, Dabbit. The two musicians were 'drawn' to each other, but there was nothing between them but a love of music. He was sort of on the rebound, his true love having run off to London. She, was married, but separated from her husband. The story, actually deals with how they met, wrote and played music together and how much they accomplished in one week's time before (at the end of the movie) he went after his girlfriend to London.

I saw Saw 1, but haven't seen any other Saws, and will have to see the other Saws before I see Saw 5, if you see what I mean.

I see what you mean about seeing saw - though if you did see saw 5 before seeing saw 2/3/4 would it spoil the plot? I don't know We'll see when you've saw it?
