Why not use this space to tell us about anyone you would like to tell us about and let us join you in paying our respects and homage. While you are thinking about that look at A Pittance of Time. Although produced in Canada in honor of their 'Remembrance Day', it coincides with our "Veteran's Day" which is fast approaching, and it's applicable as well to our country, the UK (Armistice Day), Australia (Remembrance Day), and wherever else people have lost brothers, sisters, children, fathers, mothers or friends in the cause of freedom. BTW, if you would like to save a copy of this little video, right click on the link and select "Save Target As..." Don't forget - Freedom is never free.

Mark do you have a poppy appeal or similar thing in the US? I'm sure you are aware of our poppy appeal but for those who know little or nothing it is basically an annual appeal to raise money for the British legion who then distribute the money to our soliders who need it...http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/

Yes, there is, Dave. Our 'American Legion' are out in force with Poppy Buttonaires. Same concept, and I think perhaps it stems from that poem:
In Flanders Fields by Colonel John McCrae In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below
We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
