As you know I am growing tomatoes again, and while the flavour is always far superior to those of shop bought I can't seem to get over the fact the skins are much tougher than those bought in shops. Does anyone know if there is anything to do to help 'soften' the ski ns

I've been stuffing into my tomatoes as most are ripened now and they are yummy especially with the home grown cue... I guess the 'extra taste' come from being so fresh do you think

Yes, nothing better than eating tomatoes that are vine ripened and fresh. Store produse is picked green and never gets the flavor it should have.

True, unless you want to pay an arm and leg to buy the really nice vine-ripened tomatoes in the store.
Dabbit, I know of no way of softening the skins, I'm afraid.

Actually Mark the most recent ones have been fairly soft skinned - I reckon it might be something to do with timing...Em now where was that day watch again..
