the weather has been beautifull today so we went sailing down at Itchenor which is part of the chichester estuary, there was enough breeze to keep cool and have some good sailing, we have an Otter dingy

its only a 5.0 mp and was a really cheap camera half price at £70. so I,m very pleased with it, I enjoy taking photos though thats why we got the computer in the first place, both my parents are also keen photographers exspecially my dad who has a marvellous collection of cameras some are really early he,s also a keen model aeroplane builder and flyer and has done so since he was in his teens, his club has members who he,s known all that time, he used to be mentioned in the flying magazines and had some record flights when he was younger he is now comming up to 80 (I,m sure he won,t mind me saying that).

Well, 5.0 Megapixels is still better than the little 4.0 Megapixel camera I have, which I won in a sweepstakes, LOL, so I can't complain.
I used to build model planes when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago - never had any record flights though, doggone it, so I admire your Dad. I've got several old cameras which are film cameras which I haven't even touched since I discovered digital photography.

We used to live a lot nearer to Itchenor than now but haven,t found anywhere as nice to sail so still go back there, its about 2 hours drive from here so people probably think we,re mad but its so lovely and we think its worth the journey, once you sail down the narrow straight you can see in the photos the water widens out and we sail to the beach just before the entrance to the sea, the water is so clear there you can see 10-12ft depth and its lovely to swim in everyone goes there on a nice day and the whole beach is taken up by anchored boats, there are 1500 boats moored in the estuary and they all go out on sundays the same as us so its sometimes like the M25, it takes about an hour to sail to the beach so its a good day out and very cheap we take a picnic and swimmers and its great, we want to retire on a boat probably a river cruiser of some sort we,d both love that sort of life just travelling around, europe would be even better.

Sounds lovely, Squirrelann. I'll have to add the locale to my itinierary when I next visit the UK next year. Incidentally, we've also been talking about taking a river cruise through Europe, something I've always wanted to do, possibly through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany or perhaps through Russia. Haven't decided yet, though.
