Not sure if you've heard the dreadful reports of alleged child abuse in a children's home on Jersey. Apparently the reports date back forty years and include sexual torment and torture, the police are even digging up a cemented in cellar. They have found skeletal remains of children in the building. [glow=red,2,300]The following is reported on BBC[/glow] Jersey's chief minister has pledged "there is no hiding place" for child abusers on the island. Frank Walker told island senators that anyone who abused children or colluded with abuse would be pursued. Mr Walker has been criticised by a former minister who claims he has evidence that previous abuse cases in Jersey were mishandled. Police investigators are continuing to search a former children home where a child's body has been discovered. From the BBC news web site[/url][/sub]

Dreadful news, Dabbit. No, I hadn't heard. I don't watch the news as often as I should, it being an election year and all. This is absolutely dreadful though. It's no secret, here, how much I abhor that kind of behavior, and one reason for this site's existence. There is no hole too deep to drop child or animal abusers in in my humble opinion. And, as they cannot be rehabilitated, they should never be let out. I'd like to catch one of them in a dark alleyway. Grrrrr.... D....there goes my day.

doesn't it though? The latest round of barbs being thrown around by Clinton and Obama is getting ridiculous. I think she's ruining her own chances of gaining ground with her current defensive tactics. (which suits me fine, because i don't like her anyway)
Oh, and to get back to the original thread lead-in....No I hadn't heard that horror story, either, Dabbit. We hear about so many of these types of cases here, it just sickens me that there are people in this world who would hurt children, in any way. I can't even begin to tell you what I would like to see done with those people!!! It isn't pretty, I can tell you that!

Someone needs to do a COM on child abuse. I would, but don't think I can. Perhaps I can bring myself to do one on animal abuse down the road.

Well, I think I'd be too emotional do an objective piece on either subject. I'll give it some thought, but i get myself worked up into a frenzy of emotions on both of those particular topics, and I'm too new to this forum to know the political attitudes of the membership.

Thanks, Dabbit, that would be good. It's best I don't dwell on the subject, myself.

Cheers Mark I really should try to educate myself (I left school with no qualifications - a dunce I guess you'd call it) But I have got through life so far OK and can now operate a computer, install software and remove it etc, and can even read a whole book (though it takes me a while). I'll do my best at putting the full stops in correctly etc - and maybe you could mark it out of 10 for me - LOL

No problem, Dabbit. I've been writing all my life, had to write a lot of reports and things while working for the government, and they brooked no errors, so one had to stay on one's grammatical toes, so-to-speak, and it becomes a force of habit, so-to-speak, though I do occasionally find myself having to alt+c (spell check) by posting before I hit the Post Reply button... ;D
