If you like a good family film, or a good weepy then Marley and me is for you. About a young journalistic family with a naughty dog who is basically untrainable but very well loved. It tell the tale of Marley's life along with the growing family. But be warned if you don't shed a tear at this you are one hard person! Even I had tears in my eyes!

I must admit Dave, this was not one of my favorite films. I sat through it because my grandkids wanted me to view it with them. But once was enough!

I'm surprised Maria - you are the first person I've met who hasn't liked it. But I guess that's what makes the world tick . I thought it was a lovely family friendly film, although it did tug at the heart strings. It's not my usual genre I have to say, but I did enjoy it none the less. I found it funny as well as tear wrenching

My whole family kept ragging on me because I didn't like the film. It is now confirmed . . . I am weird! LOL

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. I thought it had humor, pathos and was a remarkable account of how attached we can become to our furry friends in spite of ourselves - a thoroughly human story well-told, I thought.

I agree Mark, even now some 30+ years after the death of my first dog I still think of him - and remember crying for days! I think the fact it was my very first death didn't do much to ease the situation

I don't think your weird Maria! I enjoy a good thriller/horror but apart from my youngest daughter no one else will watch them. All our tastes very in everything including films, food, holidays etc

Yes, some are more sensitive to that sort of thing than others. For example, I wouldn't let Charley watch 'Marley and me'....

No? Fudge watched it and loved it, but then I think she was a bit taken with the lead dog...

Well, Charley is really quite sentimental - he wouldn't have liked the sad bits toward the end...
