Several times I think I've mentioned Paint Shop Pro. I use it for graphics creation, modification and re-sizing. The current version is V. 10. I have bought several versions and now own V. 9, but saw no good reason for upgrading until the next big release. Beginning a few versions back they started adding functionality to be used to manipulate photographs. I use it for that too. However, one of my favorite versions, V. 4.12 I found to be the easiest to use of all the versions as regards graphics. In addition you can use it to resize photos as they are graphics as well, there just isn't the photographic enhancements like red-eye removal, etc. So, with that in mind, and since the older version of Paint Shop Pro is now free, I'm providing a link here for your use in downloading it. You'll have to unzip it and install it - there is an Install program in it. I think you'll all like it - it's fun to play with and is actually quite powerful. Enjoy! I downloaded a demo - Which I admit I am finding quite difficult to master. I used to have photobase2000 (it came with my scanner) which I got on well with. I am now waiting for my new scanner and wills ee what comes with that...

Dabbit, there are several fine tutorials to help one get the hang of it - it's not intuitive - that's for sure. But I find the earlier version much easier to work with than the current ones, especially when one is first learning it. The one you can download here is a full-blown version 4 and easier to use than the version 9 I paid for, and it's free. This is a link to a basic v. 4 tutorial Basic PSP - V. 4Here's a link to some more tutorials - Joy's PSP TutorialsHere's another V. 4 TutorialsHere's a long listing Tutorial List

Dabbit, I think you might be happier starting off with the free version 4 that you can download here and has no time limit. The version 10 has more bells & whistles but it is quite complicated looking. I bought version 9, because I found a real deal on it, but haven't figured it all out yet. I'm always reverting to version 4 to do my graphics things.

I downloaded the version you linked too and it states it has a 30 day trial on it, every day I load it up it goes down a day...

It says that, but I've been using it a lot longer than 30 days. As they no longer sell or support v. 4 it's not important.

Maybe it'll carry on after the 30 trial...This is the message I get when starting it this morning: This is a shareware version of Paint Shop Pro. You may use it for 30 days. If after your 30 day evaluation period you would like to continue to use Paint Shop Proyou must purchase the licensed version. You are on day 2 of your evalution period.

I think I will try and make a few 'banners' before the expiry - The earlier version is definetley easier - I'll just keep on mucking around....I saw the new ExaScape banner Mark I like it...

Well, the older version is not even being sold anymore, Dave. So they can't require you to purchase it... ;D I'd just keep using it, then if you want to buy the newer version later on, like I did, use it as the simpler backup and the newer for working with digital photos, etc. IMO the earlier version is easier to work with for graphics purposes than the newer one and since they don't sell version 4 any more or really support it (it was just shareware way back then) there's no problem.
