Sometimes I click on a message and the pictures won't load. All I get is a little X inside a box and the word image next to it. I noticed this first in some of my emails (Yahoo) but also in a lot boards on this site. Most pictures load just fine but some I can't view even if I right click and select show picture or refresh the screen. To give you an example, I could view the puppy pictures just fine but I couldn't see any of the kitty pictures. Do I need to change something in my computer settings somewhere? Or is it because I'm on a dialup connection? I use Windows XP and IE7.

Hi Catr,
How are you posting the photos? When you hit 'Reply' in a dialogue, a little 'Upload an Image' form will appear above the 'Message' box (here). There will be a button which says 'Browse'. Click on that and the system will search your hard drive for the photo as you direct. When you select a photo for uploading by highlighting it, click on 'Open' and the 'Host It' button will become 'ungrayed out'. Click there and the image will be uploaded from your computer to the host, Imageshack. It will display to you the URL (address) of the photo. Select one of the 3 options to either post the full image, a thumbnail image or link to the photo, and then select 'Add to Post'.
If you've just been copying and pasting, then that won't work once the cache has been cleared.
Hope this helps! ;D

I wonder Mark whether it might be because the picture location has changed or the picture has been removed that it isn't showing? In which case Catr there is nothing that can be done.

Could be. But in my experience, more often than not it's been some sort of a glitch at Imageshack and many times I've had to re-ujpload a picture and re-post it. Hard to complain about a free service, though, you know?

OK guys, I guess I didn't explain myself very good. Some of the pictures I a trying to look at won't load. The specific ones on this site are the pictures of other peoples cats. Forum topic - Cat; subtopic - My cat's picture I am not able to view any of the pictures under this topic. Is it my computer or what? And before anyone asks, YES I did try to reboot my computer, clear the cookies, delete the history and temporary files and disabled the popup blocker.

The pictures don't show for me either Cat, so I presume they have been removed from the server by their owners. All I get is [image] and not the picture...

Dabbit, Thanks, that helps. At least I know that it isn't just my computer. What kind of internet connection do you have? I'm still on dial-up since cable or DSL doesn't exist yet in my area. I'm in a rural area that is outside of any city limits. I'm still wondering if it could have something to do with my type of connection.

Oh my goodness. I've added this to my 'to-do' list. I'm almost up to next Christmas, LOL. I will have to take a look.

LOL, Not at all, Cat. Just takes a while to get around to everything. On the contrary, if people don't point out problems they've found, it could take half of forever for it to come to my attention.... ;D

Mark just so you know... I am one of those people that used to drive the teachers crazy with questions. I'm never content to accept that something works or doesn't. I have to know why and how.
