I wasn't sure I wanted to watch this film, but I was talked into it, and as it turned out, very glad I was talked into it. I'd give this film a solid 4. Even though the film was in French, you should have no problem at all with the subtitles, although there were a few spots where I offered what I thought was a better translation than the subtitle, LOL. Anyway, as you can tell, probably, this is a story of the sad, somewhat tortured life of Edith Piaf, so ably played by Marion Cotillard. This film has already won several awards, by the way, and has been nominated for 3 Oscars for the upcoming Academy Awards. You may listen to or download the title song here, as sung by Ms. Piaf herself. La Vie en Rose.... Well, they're not ideal, I guess it does help to understand the language. But you know what I hate more? Films that have been dubbed. I dislike it when the mouth keeps moving long after the words have stopped or vice versa. ;D
