Sorry, Jane, I fixed it. Unfortunately, I was late today and didn't see the problem in time. Mea culpa, mea maximua culpa!

Sorry you couldn't get in Dave. Perhaps you need the last version of Java, several people have had to install it. Go to java.com/en/download/manual.jsp to download and install the appropriate version of Java. You'll have to reboot your computer following the installation. Then try to go into the Chat room and let me know if it works, ok?

That's all I can think of Dave, that might be causing a problem as other people have had a similar problem which went away with the new installation - particularly those that went to IE 7 or to Windows Vista.

You can test it just by logging into it, Dave. Sometimes it takes more than once (why, I don't know). And it's not distance, or anything like that, because Jane was present this past Sunday. Anita did have a problem after she went to Vista, but I talked to the Chat room people and they sent a solution by which she was able to correct the initial incompatibility.
Also, there have been times when I have had to clear the cache and reboot to get it to work. If you download the Advanced Windows Care Personal from our downloads page, it can take care of most of that sort of thing. And the IOBit Smart Defrag, which also has a download link on the downloads page, constantly defrags - that's another suggestion. Sometimes the computers get so fragmented that they really slow down. Both of those are good bits of software, and I highly recommend them.

I've seen it do that before, Dabbit. Did you try clearing the cache, etc.? Those software programmes I mentioned are really good.

Probably just one of those glitches or gremlins then. Happens.

I missed Chat. Again. I forgot it was Sunday. Again. I've stopped going online until later in the day (so I can get more of my packing done). Would someone please send me a reminder on Saturday that the next day is SUNDAY & CHAT? I know it sounds stupid but everyday is the same for me and in the morning I don't think about what day it is.TIA

It's a great little chat for about an hour or so - so worth while when you do

Glad you had a good time, Dabbit. I look forward to seeing your pics. I took a lot of pics myself, but have to first install the software and transfer the pics from the camera to my desktop computer and I hope to then make a photo album. Of course, I will probably post a few here as well.
