Four years ago we got a cross breed dog: Her dad was a german shepherd who was apolice dog, and her mum and springer spaniel - she is a gorgeous soft stupid dog. This morning we took her the vets for her jabs, and was told she is over weight. We also took her a few years back because we thought she was not putting on enough weight.

I think cross-breeds are fun. Dabbitt, did you look at the site itself at www.thedoghouse.pbwiki.com the password is the same, doglovers, if you wish to edit or post. Not much there yet as it's new, but why don't you post Fudge's photo, here as well, if you wish? My Charley is a little overweight as well - happens when they've been neutered I'm told.

Whislt having her recent vacinations we were also told fudge could do with losing a little weight...of course during the winter she literally goes on just two walks a day (which is probably why she has gained weight) during the summer she has three or four walks and a good run off...She is a funny dog though

I think Fudge and Charley would get along famously, Dave - he's a little strange as well. Cute little bugger though, don't know what I'd do without him.

Hmm can we dog lovers get in here too.
I don't know my dog, Fluffy, (I didn't name him.) is pretty special too. And overweight according to the vet. Then so were my kitties.

I take it that Fluffy is a long-haired specimen of the species then?

Heinz 57. I have had the pure breeds as well as the muts. This one is one of the best dogs I have ever had. I always thought I preferred medium sized dogs, until this one entered my life. He was an abanoned dog. Can't imagine anyone would not want this one. Best thing I ever did was rescue it.

About the same coloring as my Fluffy but a tad smaller. I don't think mine has sprouted a halo either. He maybe just a triffle to independent for one. (I think that is the nice way of putting it.)

Well, I must admit that Paintshop Pro had something to do with the halo... ;D

Ah yes, girth control - a waist is a terrible thing to mind, isn't it?

I lovee eating trouble is it has this tendency to stick to my body...My dad was one of those people who could eat what he wanted and not put on an ounce. However, he wasn't well and had strokes before he's death - which proves weigh has no effect on health - it is what we put in our bodies.

I'm sure that's true, Dabbit. Of course, I'm the type that can read a menu and gain weight, I think.

Maybe we should start our own diet - what about the lettuce leaf diet? Doesn't that sound appetising....

So, Dave, should your screen name then be Dabbit or perhaps Rabbit, then, since you're a lettuce lover?
